Dress Code


Students in all grade levels are NOT allowed to wear steel toed, hard plastic toed or open back shoes.  House shoes, cloth shoes, heelies, roller skate shoes, etc. are prohibited. No tennis shoes for students in grades 7th – 12th.


Elementary Students: Maroon polo shirts and navy blue bottoms must be worn with a belt…ex: Skirts, Skorts, Dresses, Jumpers, Capri’s, Pants, and Shorts.  Shorts, skorts, skirts, dresses, and jumpers MUST be knee-length when standing, including slits on skirts, dresses, and jumpers.

 

Junior High Students: Maroon polo shirts and navy blue bottoms must be worn with a belt…ex: Skirts, Pants, Dresses, or Capri’s.  (NO shorts, skorts or tennis shoes).  Skirts and dresses MUST be knee-length when standing, including slits on skirts and dresses.  Spirit Day: School issued shirt with navy blue pants, skirts, or capri’s.  Jeans and tennis shoes are NOT allowed.

Additional dress code requirements for all grade levels at the School of Excellence in Education
  • Oversized clothing shall not be worn. Pants will be worn to the waist. Sagging or bagging will not be tolerated. Students will only be corrected once. Parents will be called on 1st incident. Belts will be through all belt loops and excess tucked in the belt loop. Long, frayed, tight fitting, spandex, or cut off pants are not acceptable.
  • Shirts must be tucked in at all times unless in P.E. Bunching or rolling of the shirts around the waist will not be permitted. The belt must be seen from the front and the back.
  • Red, royal blue, and brown shirts are prohibited to be worn underneath uniform shirts.
  • Nothing will be worn over the school uniform except open front outerwear. Hoods are not allowed on jackets or sweaters. All jackets, sweaters, and coats must be unzipped or unbuttoned at all times. Pull over sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, etc. are prohibited. Parents will be called on 1st incident. School sweaters will be available for purchase.
  • Body piercing jewelry is prohibited except for ear piercing. Girls may wear only ONE (1) pair of earrings. No earrings are accepted for boys. Spacers or other objects are not allowed to keep the hole from closing. Band-aids are not allowed to cover the holes.
  • Necklaces may be worn one at a time. Charms over 2” in diameter and/or chains over 18” are not permitted.
  • Dangling key ring and/or chains will not be permitted on clothing, wallets, footwear, backpacks, or purses.
  • Appropriate footwear must be worn. Steel toed, hard plastic toed and open back shoes are prohibited. House shoes, cloth shoes, heelies, roller skate shoes, etc. are prohibited. Tennis shoes are acceptable for all grade levels. See “Dress Code” for high school students above for acceptable footwear.
  • Boys are not allowed to wear make-up of any kind.
  • Grills are not permitted.
